Political Corruption has been Eliminated!

The existence of corruption in the political process is obvious to everyone.

Special interest groups, political parties, wealthy individuals control the outcome of every vote on every issue and the public is fed up. Those doing the voting sell their vote to the highest bidder through obvious payoffs that are legal and overtly known as “Campaign Contributions.” Special interests groups, party leaders and individuals hold those doing the voting hostage by controlling their funding, threatening their livelihood and future. The concentration of power in the hands of a few is clearly the norm. Scandals are exposed almost on a daily basis with each one seeming more incredible than the last one but the corruption continues as it always has. The public outcry continues with no solution in sight.

The most incredible aspect of this continuing and disgusting situation is that society has not only faced this phenomenon before but has already eliminated it. Unfortunately, the public can’t seem to recognize that the current day problem is identical to the conditions that existed in elections that predated the success of the Chartist movement in the 1800’s to establish manhood suffrage and provide the benefits of secret ballot for all voters.  These benefits include preventing voters from selling their votes as well as preventing powerful people and organizations from corrupting the outcome.

Today’s problems at the governmental level are exactly the same as they were at the public elections level before the adoption of secret ballot for elections. The solution is likewise obvious but:

1. The public is so focused on their sense of personal control that they can’t see the obvious.
2. The power brokers understand this public opinion allows them to hold power and they like it.

When will such an obvious and proven solution get the open consideration of rational debate and general exposure in the media. The Association to Improve Government continues to air this concept and encourage the public to remove the feature of the political process that allows corruption, coercion and the concentration of power in our political systems.

To understand more fully the solution that has already been proven and is universally accepted by all modern nations please visit, improvegovernment.org and let’s actually do something to eliminate this unacceptable aspect of our political systems.
